Product Designer

 

As primary product designer for the internal tool, Atlas, I partnered with a lead developer, a data visualization expert and athlete scientists. My role specifically led the improvement of navigation, user flow and dissemination of data into storytelling narrative

THE CHALLENGE

 

To equip in-house designers with game changing data

 

Nike encountered the tough challenge of enhancing apparel fit for plus-size bodies, requiring their in-house designers to access more scientific data for success. The question remained: How could we condense quantitative and qualitative data into user-friendly metrics to inform their design decisions?

 

 

BUSINESS OBJECTIVES

 

Expedite designer workflow while improving fit 

Improving designer workflow was a key business objective. Designers needed quick access to data, a seamless integration into their apparel workflow. The output of improved plus size designs could have improved conversion impacts as well as enhanced public outlook.

 

 

 

INSIGHTS/DATA

 

Capturing bodies in motion 

Using proprietary 3D cameras, Nike invited women of all ages, shapes and sizes to participate in the inclusive size study. The results were revolutionary for improving the lives of women in sport.

A user-friendly, easily digestible storytelling format

Leveraging dynamic motion graphics, video interviews from researchers and easy to digest storytelling segments, this platform segment offers a thorough exploration of inclusive sizing research findings for years to come.
